A project to migrate the cargo business into a brand new fully automated
warehouse. A complex integration project with many individual systems
exchanging data in both real-time and batches, ranging from a legacy mainframe
system to Windows 95, UNIX, ORACLE, and web-enabled systems.
Re-modelled the existing processes for the new environment, producing process
flowcharts for all aspects of operation and system functionality. This involved
presentations, workshops and interviews with the user community, other IT
departments, and 3rd Party suppliers.
Provided a Data Analyst to design and implement a database to
support the movement of cargo through the warehouse, and the booking and
flight information associated with it. This analyst specified and co-ordinated
several system interfaces and acted as team leader for a team of 4 analysts.
Responsible for validating and documenting the end-to-end systems, interfaces
and data design.
